The Women’s Arc has all of the same great features of our standard Arc, but sized specifically for women’s boots. Shorter and narrower baseplates fit snug and comfortably, accommodating down to a size 5 US (22 Mondo) boot. Lower and more compact heel loops move the ankle strap mounting point down to hit the sweet spot over your boot while positioning the highbacks lower on the leg for a better calf fit. The Arc is a perfect choice for the ladies who want a lightweight binding with softer features for comfort and max versatility.

In the Box: Bindings, Tesla touring brackets, Tesla T1 heel rests, mounting screws, and Spark pocket tool.

Wie man sehen kann, sind die Grundplatten nahezu ident. Aber die Heelcups sind unterschiedlich Groß. Man hat aber an jeder Spark Bindung die Möglichkeit dieser zu nächst größeren und zur nächst kleineren Bindung zu verstellen. Eine M ist klein geschraubt eine XS/S und eine XS/S ist groß geschraubt eine kleine M usw...Weil man mit dem Umschrauben des Heelcups diesen 2cm verstellen kann. Wer einen normalen Softboot hat, für den fallen die Sparkbindungen groß aus.

Will Spark, the inventor of the Spark binding, was the first to constructively combine a soft binding with the proven Voile Slider base plate. The result was a construction, which in the base is still the same as the Voilé Light-Rail or the SP United Split FT. The big litter wasn't that at that time yet, because it was only consistently further thought, what Voile-USA had specified.

The first really interesting technical innovation at that time, however, was the corresponding crampon. This was simply attached to the binding at Spark and cannot be fixed to the binding then or now. Then came a kind of intermediate step, an evolutionary stage, whose model was called "Edison". Perhaps Will felt a little compelled by the new competition from Karakoram and presented this binding at ISPO 2012 in a completely surprising way. The "Edison" didn't quite convince us - and in the end it never went into series production.

At ISPO 2013, Spark presented the "Tesla" system with the Magneto and Afterburner models. "Tesla" was now really new! It is simple, reliable and, above all, allows the binding to be mounted without a split pin, in both walk and ride mode. From now on Will had worked out a completely new and own concept and inspired us from the beginning.

The "Tesla" system became the T1 concept - even simpler and lighter.

However, both bindings are an aluminium base, which is very stiff by nature. Since we like to do without unnecessary weight when touring, it is perfect for normal tours in the Alps.

Unfortunately, it has a small disadvantage: the crampon. It is still a remnant from the beginnings that one should attach the crampon as simply as possible. Well, it is easy and quick to install, but it could break easily until 2014/15, due to the constructional design (2014/15). The problem has been fixed since 2018.

The Spark Arc Women is the lightest splitboard binding on the market.

If you now combine a Prior XTC or Amplid Milligram Splitboard with a Spark, you will experience maximum driving pleasure. Such a setup offers the most reliable technology and minimum weight. Thus a splitboard is lighter than a comparable freeride ski with freeride touring binding! That's what we call "thumbs up!"
