During the 00’s Daniel Furberg jealously watched his friend’s freeride
skis be revolutionized, while the snowboard industry remained
stagnant. Long sidecut radius and camber under foot were combined
with rocker and reverse sidecut towards the tip and tail of the skis.
The result was skis that had better stability, oatation and were more
eortless to ride. In summary, freeride skiing was made simpler.
It seemed obvious that these modications would work for
snowboards as well. Daniel tried to convince his snowboard sponsor
at the time to try out some new shapes, but the sponsor didn’t show
any interest.
Daniel Furberg was then prompted to found Furberg Snowboards in
2009. The shape that revolutionized freeride skis turned out to work
just as well on snowboards. Furberg Snowboards is currently
considered to be the most innovative snowboard brand on the
market and is constantly rening their boards for higher
performance and better quality.
